Sunday Mormon service in Chennai India

After going to the Buddhist temple and the catholic cathedral that had the remains of Thomas the apostle, we dropped off a few at the mall who did not want to go to church and went to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly referred to as the Mormons. The building was recently built. The beginning part was conducted in English. It was fast Sunday or open Mic  Sunday. People from the congregation can express their feelings about God. The congregation was full of locals with only a few foreigners. Only locals bore their testimony. The people who shared switched between English and Tamil sometimes mid sentence.  There was a good feeling there. We were told by members that they usually have a baptism after church, which they did today, a teenage girl. There is no open proselytizing in India, that I was told. A couple that is retired on a mission , the Smiths were there and were coming with us for the rest of Sunday and Monday. They had been on another "adventure" mission to Romania ( I think) and were 9 months into their 18 month mission. They were trying to prepare people to go to the Mormon temple either in Hong Kong or the Philippines.  On the way home we hit an extra hour of traffic due to a religious Hindu parade.
